lyrics

Dance, Mayah, Dance

The first time I saw her she was dancin' at an open mic at The Sacred Grounds.
Oh, Frankieman was playin' on his didgeridoo
and Aedryan, well, he might have been there too.

I didn't even catch the name of this whirlin' flame of a twirlin' girl...
but she was movin' like a force of nature untamed... in sync with Jah, Buddah, Ra,
God, Goddess, Kryshna... and any other spark, or spirit of this universe...

The girl could dance, dance, dance... Oh yeah!
She could dance, dance, dance...
This girl could dance, dance, dance... Oh yeah!
She could dance, dance, dance...

The next time I saw her she was walkin' at the corner of Haight & Ashbury.
Now, you gotta understand, this street's like one giant band...
There were musicians as far as the eye could see...

Well, her Birkenstocked feet would adapt to the beat of every genre, groove, style and sound...
shoulders swayin', hips gyratin', arms so gracefully creatin' air sculptures rivaling those
of Michaelangelo, Rodin, Cellini, Nevelson, DaVinci, Lin, Saint-Gauden... Wow!
Any one of them would have been so proud of

the girl who could dance, dance, dance
Oh, she could dance, dance, dance...
This girl could dance, dance, dance... Oh yeah!
She could dance, dance, dance...

Well, I finally got the chance to ask her name while meditating at Hippie Hill...
She introduced herself as Mayah, gave me a hug,
then went right back to that place where the drum circle takes
the free and joyous, blissful beings who submit their will

to the dance, dance, dance. oh yeah,
Mayah could dance, dance, dance
This girl could dance, dance, dance...
Oh yeah, go on, dance, Mayah, dance...

The first time I saw her she was dancin' at an open mic at The Sacred Grounds.
Oh, Frankieman was playin' on his didgeridoo
and well, Aedryan, yeah, he might have been there too.
